Vegetable Hill
Isn’t a place
It’s only a dream in your mind
Vegetable Hill
Doesn’t take up an inch of space
You can only hit fast forward when you cannot rewind
Tucked away in the alphabet of valleys
Tucked away in the altitude of light speed
Let’s divvy the peas
You’re gonna rise up singing tomorrow
It’s goddamn guaranteed
Vegetable Hill
Cabbage and lace
Never a trace left behind
Vegetable Hill
I can see it across your face
You’re about to pay it forward cause there’s nowhere left to climb
Tucked away in the temperature of nightfall
Tucked away in the pocket of a cool doll
Unbouncing the ball
Your gonna rise up riding a windsail
It’s goddamn good for all
Vegetable Hill
Isn’t a place
It’s only a dream in your mind
Vegetable Hill
Doesn’t take up an inch of space
You can only hit fast forward when you cannot rewind
Tucked away in the alphabet of valleys
Tucked away in the altitude of light speed
Let’s divvy the peas
You’re gonna rise up singing tomorrow
It’s goddamn guaranteed

Reminds me a lot of Court and Spark and Ladies of the Canyon era Joni. The synths and vocal chops of Kleinmeister, but the solitude of Rendezvous with Rama. I find it easy to describe in terms of other things but hard to describe the emotions that it makes me feel! These summer-y odes to that seem to be directed to a teenage New Englander really resonate with me, an almost not-teenage New Englander, two decades later, but I think anyone could see themselves in these songs! mickyfitz808
